With more and more tailgating parking lots enforcing rules prohibiting glass bottles or glass of any type, doing a Boilermaker or a Jäger Bomb is getting harder and harder. Sure you could try to drop a plastic shot glass into a red Solo cup but the weight is not the same and the shot will not sink to the bottom. So I guess doing Jäger Bombs while tailgating is a thing of the past. That might have been the case until I discovered Hurricane Shooters.
Hurricane Shooters manufacturers plastic cups that is a two chambered cup. With a 1 oz. inner shot glass and a 4 oz. outer ring cup, it separates the two liquids until you tilt it up and are ready to take your shot. Hurricane Shooters also have smaller Bomber style cups with a 1/2 oz. inner cup and a 1 1/2 oz. outer cup for you lightweights. They even have glow in the dark bomber cups for those that still like to tailgate in the dark after the game is over and the parking lot attendants have turned out the lights. (Make sure you have a designated driver if you are this type of tailgater.)
With the popularity of energy drinks like Red Bull, Monster, Liquid Ice Energy Drink, Full Throttle or Rock Star getting mixed with Jägermeister, you are bound to be a hit at the tailgate party when you arrive with these cups. The best thing is that the cops will not nail you for having glass in the parking lot. Quantities are as low as 10 cups for $6.50 and of course, price per unit goes down with larger quantity orders.
In honor of Hurricane Shooters allowing you, the tailgater, to still enjoy Jäger Bombs while tailgating, here are a few recipes of Bomber style drinks to try out:
Irish Car Bomb
one-half shot (1 part) of Irish whiskey
one-half shot (1 part) of Irish cream
3/4 pint of stout (24 parts) Guinness Stout is the preferred
Drop the shot in the Stout and drink quickly. (I swear it tastes like chocolate milk.)
The Chuck Jäger
Drop a shot of Jägermeister into a glass of Woodchuck Hard Apple Cider. Upon consuming the beverage, the drinker is required to emphatically yell “Sonic Boom!” This is a reference to Chuck Yeager, the first person to break the sound barrier.
Purple Jesus
Drop a shot of Jägermeister into a glass of Grape Soda. Inspired by Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson.
