I agree that there might be some bias in my opinion.
I am a football fanatic, so with loving the game of football (and of course my Eagles!) I also rank football tailgating tops to baseball and other sports tailgating.
But (and this is one of those BIG buts) baseball does have football beat in one major aspect of tailgating. And this one thing brings truth to the phrase “less is more.”
Minus maybe the first and last few weeks of the MLB season the tailgating weather is warm. The season begins with spring and occupies all of summer. In short, the warmest months of the year.
Gone are the baggy clothes that keeps one warm in the fall and winter months of tailgating. Instead it’s hello shorts, t-shirts, tank tops, or things even more revealing!
Warm weather may bring out the occasional sweaty fat dude or beer bellied lady, but even more important is the fact that it brings out less clothing on the tailgaters. Again, in short, it’s easier to see more of the “eye candy.” Though I may be a guy, this fact holds true for both the men and the women.
Spring and summer equals sexy. The ladies are sporting the short shorts and the tight baseball jersey t-shirts. To this fan there is nothing sexier than a lady sporting a jersey or a t-shirt jersey. For the ladies, the hotter the weather the more likely the guys are to show off a winter spent in the weight room.
Sure the food, the drinks, the cigars, and the games ultimately make a good tailgate. But the icing on the proverbial cake is the view. Gorgeous ladies are everywhere in the lot wearing only the minimum clothing to assure access into the stadium. As the summer months pass the bodies only become tanner. For the ladies, the same can be said of the gentleman (or so I’ve been told).
So as the temperature continues to rise, sit back, relax, and enjoy the sights. Baseball most definitely one ups football in the “eye candy” department.
