When you think of concert tailgating, what musical artists do you think of? For me, Jimmy Buffett and Kenny Chesney immediately leap to mind as the gold standard artists who encourage pre-concert tailgating. But what about Brooks & Dunn? Tailgating? Really?
Apparently the folks at Toyota think that country music fans are big tailgaters and have come out with The Midnight Rider Tundra Tailgater by Brooks & Dunn. The truck is a tribute to the legendary country music duo’s career that has spanned over 20 years.
No matter what you opinion on the inspiration, when parked the truck converts into a killer tailgating machine. By sliding out the tailgate which exposes a Grill N Chill cooking area, the pull-out Grill N Chill features a cooking space with counter tops, infrared barbecue, beverage tap and ice chest. An electronically operated tonneau cover lifts to reveal a bed-installed 42-inch flat screen TV and sound system by Kicker. The sound system features a dual subwoofer system and a separate amp, four two-way speakers with tweeters and deparate crossovers and dual two-channel amps with separate equalizers and speaker control units. (They fail to mention if the sound system can only play Brooks & Dunn music.) There are more details on the truck including the types of wheels, custom door handles, leather seats, etc. Instead of listing them all here, you can check out Toyota’s Pressroom web page and check them out for yourself if interested.
Conveniently Toyota fails to mention a price for this fully customized Midnight Rider Tundra Tailgater which leads me to assume that it will be quite pricey. Then again, when it comes to price, if you have to ask you probably can’t afford it.
