2010 Toyota 4-Runner Has “Party Mode” For Tailgating

Toyota_Party_Mode October is a month where auto manufacturers release the next year’s models for sale. Now I haven’t had a chance to check out every 2010 truck and SUV model yet but it seems as though the folks at Toyota are considering tailgaters with a new addition to the 4-runner. It features a “Party Mode” which is a special audio setting that raises the bass and transfers the equalization to the rear of the vehicle. Sounds more like “tailgating mode” to me.

The 2010 Toyota 4-Runner SR5 is equipped with a 15-speaker Premium JBL audio system with navigation that receives input from a four-disc in-dash CD changer, a USB port with iPod connectivity, XM Satellite Radio, or Bluetooth audio streaming. On the dash is that button labeled “Party Mode”. This mode is designed to be used with the rear hatch open, placing emphasis on the rear speakers, specifically for tailgating. Why not just call it “Tailgating Mode”?

Maybe because “tailgating” is a 10-letter word and “party” is a five letter word and it just fit better on the button. Seeing how the 2010 Toyota 4-Runner comes with a 2″ tow hitch receiver, you could go tailgating with your own customized grill and still hear your tunes coming out of your vehicle’s speakers.

I’m not in the larket to buy a new SUV but if I was, the toyota 4-Runner would be on my list of vehicles to check out.
