2010 Tailgate Census

Tailgate Census Logo Three months ago when the calendar turned to 2010 that marked a new decade and meant America was in store for another Census. The United States Census is a decennial census mandated by the United States Constitution. The population is enumerated every 10 years and the results are used to allocate Congressional seats, electoral votes, and government program funding. Although the U.S. Census has been conducted every 10 years since the Constitution was ratified, 2010 marks the first year for a new kind of Census.  This Census is designed to get an accurate count of how many tailgaters are out there in the parking lots. No matter if you tailgate football, baseball, concerts, Nascar or all year round, the 2010 Tailgate Census will help the entire tailgating community stand up and let their voice be heard. Check out the video of Jay “the tailgate guy” DiEugenio promoting the 2010 Tailgate Census on a number of TV stations.

The 2010 Tailgate Census should only take you about 10 minutes to complete but it is well worth your time. The results of the tailgate Census will not only be used to get an accurate “head count” of just how many people tailgate in this country but also how we tailgate. There will be questions that ask your age range, gender, education level, what types of vehicles you drive, types of foods and drinks you serve, etc. All of these answers will be tallied in aggregate form and none of your information will be used for direct marketing purposes. The general intent of this is to gather information on Tailgating Nation in order to have solidarity when it comes to issues facing tailgating.

Once you have taken the Tailgate Census there are other ways to help promote this movement. Individually or as a group you can sign up to be a polling station at your tailgate party’s location. Tailgate Census will provide you with all the materials you will need. As an incentive to be a polling station, Tailgate Census is offering up prizes and tailgating gear to make it worth your while.
