EZ Grill – A Disposable Grill That Is Good For The Environment

In previous posts we have told you all the different ways to go “green” and tailgate with the environment in mind. We have introduced you to the FireJel Charcoal & Firewood Starter, The FlameDisk and even did a “How To” guide on Tailgating Green with the Environment in Mind. Now you can add The EZ Grill to that list of products that help you tailgate while not destroying the environment.

The EZ Grill is a recyclable instant grill that comes complete with a foil pan, grill grate, stand and 100% natural charcoal. All the materials provided are completely recyclable including the packaging, metal grate, stand and charcoal. The charcoal used in the EZ Grill is made up of carbon from rice, corn and wheat stalks, corn starch (acts as a binding agent) and mineral oil (for ignition). It is just like those pre-soaked briquettes with lighter fluid but this charcoal is all natural. According to the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, it takes 10 lbs of wood to create 2 lbs of conventional charcoal. Also, 366,000 tons of conventional charcoal comes from unsustainable sources annually.

The EZ Grill comes in a regular size (1.81 lbs) and larger party size (3.31 lbs) for $4.99 and $9.99, respectively. The EZ Grill lights with just one match and consistently cooks for up to 1 ½ hours. I had a chance to test out the EZ Grill for myself and I am pleased to say it performed as expected. The taste of the food tasted as if I was using regular charcoal.

The EZ Grill can be purchased at Winn-Dixie stores and at www.ezgrill.com. Additional retail outlets are being added.
