Featured Gear Friday: Tailgate HotBag

tailgate_hotbag_side-photo.jpgSince starting this tailgating blog back in 2007, we have tested, tried and demonstrated a lot of tailgating gear and written a lot of tailgating product reviews. Some good and some bad. But because we are a blog, a great product we discovered two years ago may be lost in the tons of posts we have published after discovering it. Maybe you are a new reader and haven’t had the time to pour through every single post we have done in the past three years. So in order to help out the tailgaters that might not have read about some of these cool tailgating products, we will be doing a weekly feature on products we reviewed a while ago. We call it Featured Gear Friday and this week’s product is the Tailgate Hotbag.

We discovered the Tailgate Hotbag back in 2008 and thought it was a great way to transport and keep hot those foods that normally get prepared at home and are brought to the tailgate party. Not everything can be prepared on a grill and there are those foods that need to stay hot in order to prevent bacteria and foodborne illness from ruining your day. The Tailgate HotBag does just that.

We’ve all seen those insulated carriers that pizza delivery guys show up at your door with. Those only keep the pizza warm and act like a blanket. Think of the Tailgate HotBag like those pizza blankets on steroids. The Tailgate HotBag has an internal heating unit that is powered by your cigarette lighter outlet and can maintain temperatures up to 170 degrees for as long as you like.

With a Tailgate HotBag, foods that did not go on a grill like enchiladas, casseroles, nacho dips, etc. can now come to the tailgate party. Just take them right out of the oven, slip them into the Tailgate Hotbag, plug it into your car power outlet and drive to the game. The food will stay just as warm inside the Tailgate HotBag as it did when it came out of the oven.

The Tailgate Hotbag comes in three different models all designed to fit your tailgating needs. (Click on the images for a closer look.)
