Team Camo Gear

March 9, 2011 in Featured, Tailgating Gear

Many times while out tailgating I will see other tailgaters wearing camouflage pants or shorts out in the parking lots. Most tailgaters who prefer to wear camo enjoy the comfort that a loose fit provides them along with the extra storage the cargo pockets provide to hold cell phones, an extra beer, their keys, etc. The problem with most camo is that is comes in limited colors like the traditional jungle green or the desert brown. Now that I have discovered Team Camo Gear, tailgaters now have other color options while still enjoying the comfort and convenience of traditional camouflage clothing.

I was sent a pair of Team Camo Gear shorts and I really liked the comfort they provided. The shorts had an adjustable waist so you can still be comfortable even if you make too many trips to the tailgate buffet table. I also liked how the Team Camo Gear allows you to mix and match your favorite team licensed gear whether it be a jersey on top with the camo shorts or pants. It’s also great because even though you are wearing your team gear you can still be in the spirit by rocking your team colors on your camo clothing too.

Team Camo Gear comes in a variety of colors (although some colors are on clearance so you better act fast) including Red, Blue, Purple, Yellow, Gray and Pink. Please note that Camo for a Cause will donate $1 of every pink camo T-shirt to breast cancer research. The product line includes t-shirts, pants, shorts and jungle hats for both men and women. Sizes range from Small all the way to XXXL.

Camo pants cost $29.99 to $31.99 depending on sizes, Shorts $27.99 to $29.99, T-shirts from $10.99 to $11.99 and hats costs $11.99. For more information or to order some Team Camo Gear, visit: teamcamogear.com.

Tailgate Barn: New Season, New Shirts

October 5, 2010 in Featured, Tailgating Gear

Tailgatebarn Kegstand Champ ShirtAround this time two years ago we introduced you to a T-shirt company out of Iowa that specialized in tailgating shirts. The guys at Tailgatebarn.com were nice enough to send me some sample shirts which I featured in a post two years ago.

As with anything, things get better with age. The same philosophy can be applied to the shirts and the website design over at Tailgatebarn.com. This season Tailgate Barn has created a few new shirt designs along with keeping some of the old favorites. Some of the new ones were too good to pass up and I ended up getting three for myself this year. I had sent to me the very clever Kegstand Champ T-shirt, the Life of the Parking Lot shirt and the Greatest TailGater Alive shirt. Why did I choose those shirts? Well, probably because all three are a perfect description of me. All kiding aside, take a look at some of the other designs that are new to this year.

Of the shirt designs displayed here they are all safe for work. Other shirt designs over at Tailgatebarn.com can be a bit NSFW because they have a few swear words on them. Also, because they are based in Iowa they do have a few shirts that are very much targeted towards the Iowa Hawkeye tailgaters along with Wisconsin, Nebraska, Iowa State and Northern Iowa. In order to see their entire selection of tailgating shirts designs, make sure to view them over at Tailgatebarn.com

The beauty of these shirts (outside of being all about tailgating and the tailgate party lifestyle) is that you can choose the message and design and customize the color scheme to your exact preference. All you do is find a design you like and click into that shirt. From there you select how many shirts you would like and what style. Shirt styles range from standard T-shirts, to ladies baby doll tees, to long sleeve tees to hoodies to V-neck tees to organic tees. Once you’ve selected the type of garment you select your color for the shirt. Close to 20 colors are available in the regular T-shirt option. After you have selected your base color of the garment you can now choose your color of lettering and design that will be screen printed on your shirt. With this ordering system you can get shirts to match your favorite college or pro team’s colors. And the best part is these shirts are all about tailgating. The guys at Tailgate Barn are avid tailgaters themselves so you know these shirts are legit.

Prices on shirts range based on the type of garment you choose. Naturally a hoodie sweatshirt will be a bit more expensive than a ladies baby doll tee. The regular t-shirt prices typically seem to run less than $20 per shirt and you will need to check it out for yourself to see the way the different garments are priced.

I am very pleased with my selection of shirts from Tailgatebarn.com. Come February I think I will be placing another order with them for some shirts in blue and orange in order to show my support for the Cal State Fullerton baseball team.

The T-Shirt Guy…or Gal

April 9, 2009 in Uncategorized

champion_tshirt.jpgMaybe this fan is cheap. Maybe I like a good bargain too much. But why do sporting good stores even bother selling jerseys or team themed t-shirts any more?

If you are on this site you are already going to the stadium to watch your favorite team play (if the economy has shrunk your ticket budget, well there is always e-bay). You are in the parking lot, you have your grills, your food, your beers, and your games. But what we also have is own personal traveling sporting goods store.

Yep, I am talking about the T-shirt guy (or gal) that is strolling through the parking lot with his (or her) garbage bag of shirts, hats, and pretty much anything else a fan might need to show their team support and hatred of the opposition.

The t-shirts (though I admit not always G-rated) have the catchiest slogans bashing the opposition or logos with cartoon characters defacing the opposition’s helmet. Admit it we all have at least 1 t-shirt with the guy peeing on your rival’s helmet or a slogan noting how much the rival sucks or how the players are blowing this and that.

Maybe the sun is too bright, no problem, the guy (or gal) also has shades and caps for the male or female fan. When the weather is too cold he (or she) of course has winter hats, gloves, and hand warmers…all for the low, low price of $5-$10. These are prices that would put even Wal-mart to shame.

The T-shirt guy (or gal) should be praised by all. Such creativity must have caused at least a few sleepless nights. He (or she) is providing us fans with a valuable service…on the cheap. But instead he lives in fear that his goods will soon be confiscated. Yes, I am aware that maybe the goods are “hot.” But hey in these tough economic times we all gotta make a living somehow even if it’s from a plastic bag!

Cue the theme music. So we salute you, Mr. T-shirt guy. Keep giving us those $5 t-shirts that of course only come in one size…too big!

(On a side note, the other night when the shirts did get confiscated, the cop was nice enough to give my buddies and I free t-shirts!)
