SportsFananza.com: Hybrid Video Sharing and Blog For Sports Fans

August 12, 2008 in Tailgating Ideas

I come across all kinds of websites in my pursuit to bring you the most up to date, strange and cool tailgating ideas the online and offline world has to offer. I recently discovered a new site called sportsfananza.com. At first glance it looks to be a hybrid of part YouTube, part sports blog, part Twitter. A snippet from their About Us page.

Sportsfananza is the online news and video sharing site for sports fans to share information, ideas and provides sports fans with a voice. By becoming a member of Sportsfananza, sports fans can post user-generated sports videos and sports articles (you can even post your blog) about any sports topic.

In cruising around their website they have quite a few user generated videos that are all sports related. They even have a section called The Tailgate which isn’t about tailgating but looks to be more like Twitter with quick hit, short messages on there. you can even leave a message on The Tailgate from your mobile phone by texting it in.

Membership is free and you can start posting your own videos or write your own opinions on sports if you wish. They even have a way to win a 42″ plasma HDTV and a Nintendo Wii by earning points by either posting videos, blogging, referring friends or making comments. Speaking of that, if you sign up, make sure to say you were referred by “Tailgating Ideas”. I could always use a 42″ Plasma or a Nintendo Wii.

It’s Not Beer Pong, It’s Now “Pong Toss”

July 19, 2008 in Tailgating Games

wii-beer-pong-1.pngWhen will this nation ever get out of the death grip that is political correctness? Apparently not any time soon.

You may remember back in May we discovetred that video game developers were coming up with a version of beer pong to be played on your Nintendo Wii.  Pretty cool, right? Well, apparently the name had to be changed and all references to alcohol ripped out of the game in order to get an “E” rating by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB). The ESRB is basically the governing body that rates video games much like movies get a PG-13 or R rating. According to the ESRB, any reference to alcohol in a game automatically garners an AO (Adults Only) rating. An E rating means everyone can play this game.

Now the game has been watered down (excuse the pun) to depict virtual players tossing ping pong balls into plastic cups.  Gee, I guess the nation’s underage drinking problem can’t be blamed on kids playing a video game anymore. Political correctness wins again!

Hot Chicks & Playboy Models Playing Wii Fit

Wii FitImage via WikipediaSometimes I find things on the internet that are not related to tailgating but I have to share them anyway. This is one of those times. Warning: No tailgating ideas, tips or issues contained within this post. If you are offended by watching girls exercising in their underwear you need to look elsewhere.

Now that I have your attention…

You probably already know that the Nintendo Wii is the hottest gaming console out there and is practically the Cabbage Patch Doll of the 21st century. The Wii Fit is terribly scarce and many people are turning to eBay to find them. Okay, so enough with the video game lesson. I was promised hot chicks in their underwear. Where is this going?

Last month some guy video taped his girlfriend in her underwear doing the hula hoop game on Wii Fit. The video went up on YouTube and nearly blew up the internet. Check out the video that has already been viewed over 4 million times.

Why every guy should buy their girlfriend Wii Fit

This obviously has inspired a few copycats out there. Normally I would frown upon copycats but then along comes Playboy Cyber Girl Jo Garcia paying the Wii Fit in lingerie. Oh yeah, you know you gotta check her out doing the snowboarding game.

If you need a laugh and more importantly something to kill the tightness in your pants, check out this video in response to the original “Why every guy should buy their girlfriend Wii Fit” video. This is why every girl should buy her boyfriend the Wii Fit.

Don’t worry, we’ll get back to the regularly scheduled tailgating stuff soon enough. (I’ll bet you go back and watch the Jo Garcia video at least one more time.)
