From time to time, we like to feature truly exceptional tailgating rigs that embody the passion and enthusiasm tailgaters bring to the table when it comes to living the tailgate party lifestyle. We call them Righteous Rigs. Previous tailgating rigs we have featured include the West Virginia Shaggin Wagon, The Toledo Jambulance and The Dawg.
Time to add another Righteous Rig to the list: The Krewe of Monroeaux Tailgating Trailer
As you can see from the above photo (a more detailed photo gallery is included later on in this post) this is a utility trailer that was converted into a tailgating trailer complete with TVs, microwave, a full bar and all the amenities and creature comforts of home.
We were contacted by Rocky, a Tailgating Ideas reader and co-owner of this tailgating trailer, and he described is his words the genesis of their trailer.
This used to be a sunglasses trailer that we bought from someone. He was an LSU fan and it was already painted yellow with purple flames. My friend and I bought the trailer and did all the custom work, mounting, etc. Only thing that we paid to have done was have the trailer painted purple. With the cost of the trailer and all equipment and materials, we have probably spent close to $8500-$9000. Like you see in the pictures, we have a bar with a TV at the bar. We either play a game there so you don’t miss a play while fixing a drink, or we play music videos during tailgating. We have two 40 inch LCDs, with a winegard satellite. We call ourselves Krewe of Monroeaux, Kings of Tailgating. We are from Monroe, LA so that is why we picked that name.
Last year we won a national ESPN tailgating contest with our setup. We take great pride in our work. We have actually had people that have offered us money for the trailer but this is our passion and we wont get rid of it.
