Featured Gear Friday: Mobile Tiki Bar

February 18, 2011 in Featured, Tailgating Gear

Mobile_Tiki_BarSince starting this tailgating blog back in 2007, we have tested, tried and demonstrated a lot of tailgating gear and written a lot of tailgating product reviews. Some good and some bad. But because we are a blog, a great product we discovered two years ago may be lost in the tons of posts we have published after discovering it. Maybe you are a new reader and haven’t had the time to pour through every single post we have done in the past three years. So in order to help out the tailgaters that might not have read about some of these cool tailgating products, we will be doing a weekly feature on products we reviewed a while ago. We call it Featured Gear Friday and this week’s product is: The Mobile Tiki Bar

We’ve heard the complaints loud and clear that your tailgate party sucks. Quit your bitchin’ and get some cool tailgating ideas to spruce it up a little bit. You need that little something to give it that extra clout to let everyone know in the tailgating parking lot you know how to freaking tailgate, damn it! Nothing screams tailgate party than to have your own personal bar set up next to your parking stall. And nothing attracts the tailgating girls more than gooey rum blender drinks served from behind a tiki bar. Now you can have your own Mobile Tiki Bar that folds up and fits into the trunk of a Hyundai. Don’t believe us? Prepare to be blown away.

The concept is to have a Mobile Tiki Bar that is portable enough to fit in the smallest of passenger cars, yet when set up, it is so sturdy, you would never know it was portable. When fully assembled the bar top is 59 1/2″ long and 22 1/2″ deep and the counter height is 39″ tall. The total height from the ground to the top of the roof is 86″.

…one person can set up the entire Mobile Tiki Bar in about 10 minutes…

When packed away, this Mobile Tiki Bar fits into a large duffel bag (included with purchase) that measures 40″ long by 25″ high and 25″ wide. The total unit weighs about 60 pounds and one person can set up the entire Mobile Tiki Bar in about 10 minutes. Of course, the process will be faster if you have another set of hands to help but is not necessary. The photo at above right shows the Mobile Tiki Bar packed in the trunk of a Hyundai Elantra. Even when packed into a compact passenger car there is still room for three adults, coolers, chairs and a grill. If it can fit into a Hyundai it will definitely fit into your SUV or the back of your pick up truck.

Mobile Tiki Bar GroupWhat’s that you say? Apparently just one Mobile Tiki Bar might not be sufficient? You can purchase two Mobile Tiki Bars and create an L shape or buy three and create a horseshoe shaped tiki bar. You would have to be kidding yourself to think that if you had this set up in the parking lot you would not be the talk of the tailgating world. The only downside to getting one of these is you would have to bring extra rum and mixers because you are sure to get a few young ladies stopping by to check out your tailgate party. (Yeah, like more girls at your tailgate party would be a bad thing.) For all you Parrothead tailgaters out there, this is a must have the next time the Jimmy Buffett concert rolls into town.

If you are considering adding the Mobile Tiki Bar to your tailgating supply, you definitely need to invest in a portable blender for all those drinks you will making. You can’t have a tiki bar set up while tailgating and just serve beer in a can. Picking up a Drill Blender will definitely complete your tailgate party set up. You guessed it. You can now mix up a mean batch of margaritas using your cordless drill for the power. They cost less than $30 and can get your own Drill Blender by visiting our online Tailgating Gear store.

If you have made it this far you probably don’t need any more convincing that this is one tailgating item that will definitely turn heads. The Mobile Tiki Bar costs $650.00 plus actual shipping costs (Usually about $150) and ships from the Orlando, Florida area. You may waive the shipping costs by choosing to pick up your new Mobile Tiki Bar personally if you will be in the Orlando area.

Interested in buying your own Mobile Tiki Bar? You can buy one directly from our online tailgating store, Shop.TailgatingIdeas.com. Buy your Mobile Tiki Bar HERE.

So if you can’t find anything on this list your tailgater needs, then they truly are the world’s hardest person to shop for. Better hurry to ensure arrival by Christmas.

The Z-BenchThe Z-Bench – Have you ever needed more seating, an extra table, a step into your pick-up’s bed and a cargo holder all while tailgating? Instead of buying all four of those items just mentioned you should get a Z-Bench. The Z-Bench is a lightweight yet sturdy aluminum bench that attaches to a pick-up truck tailgate. It is not only a bench but has other functions including a tailgate step, a picnic table and can also work as a cargo holder. The best part is it is easy to install by yourself and when not in use, the Z-Bench folds up and takes up less than 3 1/2″ of space. Get your own Z-Bench for a “football season” specialty price of $349 that includes shipping.

The Tanksetter easily attaches to your propane tank with threaded fasteners and widens the base making it virtually impossible for the tank to tip over. The Tanksetter also prevents the bottom of those rusty propane tanks from making contact with your tailgating vehicle. Also, once you are parked, the Tanksetter provides a sturdy base to prevent tailgate party guests from tripping and tipping over your propane tank while in use. You can get your own Tanksetter directly from TailgatingIdeas.com for $19.95 plus $7 flat rate shipping. Buy two Tanksetters and we’ll pick up the shipping costs. grey-1The TrackPack Backpack Cooler – Tailgating is not always pulling into the parking lot, unloading your gear and staying put for three hours. A lot of tailgaters choose to park away from the stadium and walk into the tailgating area to meet friends that already have the party started. You want to bring beverages to the party but lugging a bulky cooler can be a hassle. That’s when you need a TrackPack Cooler. It straps to your back and is carried like a backpack but this is not a book bag you take to class. The plastic insert racking system holds 20 12 oz. cans and dispenses them out of both sides of the cooler. The frozen gel packs keep your drinks cold no matter how long it takes you to drink them. The BoomCooler – Coolers and loud music are as much a part of the tailgating experience as having beers, BBQ sauce and a red hot grill. What if you could combine your cooler into a mobile sound system complete with a 10″ sub woofer, dual 6″x9″ speakers, a 600-Watt amp and a Kenwood KDC-MP442U AM/FM radio and CD Player? tailgate_hotbag_side-photo.jpgTailgate Hotbag – Just because tailgating is all about the grill doesn’t mean you have to leave those hot dishes like enchiladas, casseroles, hot dips, wings or spreads at home. Video: Jimmy Buffett Tailgate Hula Hoop

July 21, 2009 in Videos

This video of a Jimmy Buffett tailgate party has almost everything you would normally see Parrotheads doing. There is a cornhole game going on the side, mobile tiki bars set up and a woman doing a hula hoop. Oh yeah, I almost forgot. There is also a woman humping an inflatable shark in the background.
