Video: Visa – Illegal Use of the Head

Posted by Nick On January - 31 - 2013

Last week we shared with you the video from Visa in which our founder, Dave Lamm, was a participant in their media campaign prior to the Super Bowl encouraging people to #makeitepic. (If you missed it, this is what we are talking about – The Best Spread to Pair With an Epic Super Bowl)

In that video, Dave only said “Hot Wings” which lasted for about a second. (Not to feel too bad, three-time Super Bowl Champion Mark Schlereth got less face time than Dave when he said “tacos”.) This week another batch of videos were released by Visa and one in particular, included our fearless leader with a little more face time. You need to check it out below:

Watch it directly on YouTube by clicking HERE

If you couldn’t tell, these quick videos are designed for NFL fans to interact with Visa to now share their own ideas and thoughts on how they will make their Super Bowl Sunday an epic party nobody will soon forget. To help pay for that epic Super Bowl bash, tweet @Visa and include #makeitepic along with your idea of what makes an epic Super Bowl party. By doing so you have a daily chance to win one of five $50 Visa gift cards. The window of opportunity is closing fast and you have until February 3rd to get your tweets to Visa noticed.

For those asking questions about the girl that appears in this particular video with Dave, she is Megan Collins. She is a blogger and runs the blog: Style Girlfriend. That site is all about fashion and style advice aimed at guys from a girl’s perspective. Basically she is trying to cool you guys up a bit in the style department so that a living, breathing woman will actually talk to you. I have seen some of the stuff you guys wear in the parking lots while tailgating and you guys should bookmark her site… Just sayin’. You can also follow her on Twitter: @StyleGF.

Mid-Week Eye Candy Wrapper #122: Kate Upton Car Wash Edition

Posted by Dave On January - 23 - 2013

Featuring Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Kate Upton is nothing new for us. When it comes to gaining page views, the mere mention of Kate Upton is the equivalent of mentioning Erin Andrews back in 2009. We here at Tailgating Ideas are not above any shameless attempts to gain more page views and new visitors.

After all, how else do you expect us to help spread the word about tailgating and promoting the tailgate party lifestyle? This week it had been rumored that Kate Upton would be starring in a Mercedes Super Bowl commercial. Whether that is true or not, this video was “leaked” on the internet that teases the idea of a possible more detailed commercial coming on Super Bowl Sunday. Well played Mercedes Benz, well played. Links following the eye candy.

Favorite Super Bowl Commercials

Posted by Dave On January - 31 - 2012

This Sunday is Super Bowl Sunday. Although nobody will be tailgating outside of Lucas Oil Stadium this Sunday (the NFL has banned tailgating at the Super Bowl for years) most of you will be watching it at home, a friend’s house or even at a bar. Outside of the competition on the field, many viewers will be more looking forward to the innovative and creative commercials that air in between breaks in the action.

Breaking from our normal topic of all tailgating all the time, we wanted to share with you some of our favorite Super Bowl commercials from the past 10 to 15 years. Keep in mind that this collection of ads were not voted “the best” by the USA Today Ad Meter but merely are the ones we thought we the most creative and humorous in our opinion. In no particular order:

Snickers starring Betty White

Volkswagen – The Force

Reebok – Terry Tate Office Linebacker

Doritos – Laundromat

Etrade – Milkaholic

Godaddy – Proceedings

Visa – Snow Volleyball

Doritos – House sitting

If you believe we left your favorite off this list, feel free to suggest it in the comments section below.

Last week’s Mid-Week Eye Candy Wrapper #105 featured the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition rookie Kate Upton. Keeping with the SI Swimsuit theme, this week we’re going with Brooklyn Decker.
