Mid-Week Eye Candy Wrapper #35: Bar Refaeli Edition

Posted by Dave On February - 11 - 2009

Unless you’ve been living in a cave and didn’t notice it already, you have probably heard that the Sport Illustrated annual swimsuit issue hit newsstands this week. Lo and behold Bar Refaeli was honored as the cover girl. Being the cover girl of the SI Swimsuit edition is akin to being named the Super Bowl MVP or winning the Heisman Trophy. Bar Refaeli’s modeling career could hit the skids tomorrow but she will always have the title of being an SI Swimsuit issue cover girl. Congrats to her and here are this week’s links you’ll probably find interesting.

Guzzle Gun Takes The Mess Out Of Shotgunning Beers

Posted by Dave On February - 8 - 2009

People love to shotgun beers at tailgate parties. There is no getting around it. No matter how many beer bongs you see in the parking lot there is probably twice as many people choosing to do it the “old fashioned way”. So for those that like to drink it straight from the can as quickly as possible all while avoiding the spray back and mess of shotgunning beers, you need to get a Guzzle Gun. Check out the Tailgating Ideas video demo below:

Heaven Rolled on a Grill: The Bacon Explosion

Posted by Dave On January - 30 - 2009

I love bacon. We’ve told you about bacon flavored dental floss, bacon iPhone case, bacon flavored mayonnaise, bacon flavored mints, a Bacon Bra and even a bacon tuxedo. So it is well established we here at TailgatingIdeas.com like us some bacon. Nothing, and I mean nothing, prepared me for when I saw The Bacon Explosion!

Upon finding this beauty thanks to Jimmy Traina over at Sports Illustrated Hot Clicks, my heart skipped a beat. I am not sure if it was due to falling in love upon laying eyes on this little treasure or if it was my arteries slamming shut just by reading about it. All I can say if you are bad ass enough to try this out, here is what you will need.

2 pounds thick cut bacon
2 pounds Italian sausage
1 jar of your favorite barbeque sauce
1 jar of your favorite barbeque rub

That’s it. Now for the detailed instruction on how to create and properly prepare the Bacon Explosion you’ll need to head over to The BBQ Addicts. I was so impressed I immediately added them to my RSS reader and I am following them on Twitter after discovering this little gem. (Feel free to stalk me via Twitter as well.)

I am really interested to see if anyone else gives this a try and how it turns out. If anyone can pull it off and prepare a Bacon Explosion while tailgating, send me a few photos and I will feature you here on TailgatingIdeas.com. If I were a betting man, my money is on the guys from Freedom Grill to be the first ones to try this out.

Video: Last Cup Beer Bong Documentary

Posted by Dave On January - 22 - 2009

They are making a movie about the game of cornhole that should be releasing this spring. Already there is a documentary about beer pong called “Last Cup”. Although there is no footage in this trailer that was taken while tailgating it is pretty cool there is a movie devoted to beer pong.
