New Cargo Liner For Tailgating

Posted by Dave On August - 25 - 2009

Over the years I have acquired quite an arsenal of tailgating gear and toys. But with the start of each football season I always find more and more gear that can help me tailgate just a little bit better. Since I load up my SUV and take it tailgating I needed some cargo accessories to help protect my car. I recently picked up a cargo liner from TruckChamp.com and it arrived today.

The reason why I got a cargo liner is because things you take tailgating can often get dirty which in turn transfers to the inside of your SUV. In my case, I take a Lincoln Navigator tailgating primarily because I can use the 2″ tow hitch to carry my Freedom Grill FG-50 and for the extra cargo space it provides. I normally fold down the third row of seats so that I can also take along my cooler, portable generator, propane tanks, portable satellite dish, pop-up tent, Flabongo, folding chairs, beer pong table, etc. All that gear invariably gets dirty at sometime during the tailgate and I don’t want that dirt and grime getting all over the inside of my car. With a WeatherTech cargo liner I  don’t have to worry about that anymore.

I went with a WeatherTech cargo liner because it provides complete cargo area protection. They make a number of different styles and all are fit to the exact dimensions of your cargo area of your specific make and model of SUV. They are computer designed to fit your vehicle and have a raised lip to keep spills, dirt and grease off your vehicle’s interior. Sounds like they were making these things specifically for tailgaters with SUVs. Also, the WeatherTech cargo liner features a textured finish which helps to keep cargo from shifting on your way to the tailgating lot. One of the coolest things is that if it does get dirty, you just pull it out and wipe it down or hose it off for big messes. It is made from a proprietary custom blended TPO (thermopolyolefin) that is not only wear resistant, but also remains flexible under temperature extremes. Water won’t hurt it so you can hose it off and then let it sit out to dry.

If you are in the market to get cargo accessories prior to the start of football season, we have worked out a deal with the folks at TruckChamp.com to offer readers of TailgatingIdeas.com a 10% discount. Just enter in TAILIDEA10 during check out to receive your discount. Happy shopping.
