Wanted to pass along some quick information prior to some of this week’s tailgates that will be taking place. Our friends at Johnsonville have issued a recall on some select packages of their Cheddar Cheese and Bacon Grillers product. Testing showed traces of metal fragments that made their way into the patties. Thankfully for everyone, there have been no incidents of injury or illness stemming from this, and at this time the issue is isolated to only a particular batch of these products. If, by chance, you have recently purchased a package of these in Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Texas and Wisconsin, you’ll be able to identify those that were recalled by a batch number that reads EST425B and a date of 122915(see pic below).
If you have purchased some of these Grillers that are affected by this recall, remember its limited to only this variety and batch you can return the affected product to the retailer you purchased it at for a full refund. According to this Johnsonville FAQ you can also do the following:
Please contact Johnsonville’s Consumer Affairs team to arrange for Johnsonville to send you a self-addressed stamped envelope. We ask that you return the end piece off the side of the box that reads “Best Flavor By” date with the two sets of numbers. Johnsonville will then issue coupons (for any Johnsonville Griller variety or another Johnsonville product) for the full retail value or if you prefer, a check for the full retail value of $6.99. No receipt is necessary. Please contact Johnsonville: 1-888-556-2728 or complete a brief form in the “Contact Us” section of Johnsonville.com:http://www.johnsonville.com/contact.html
