Economy got you down? Don’t have as much disposable income to spend on tailgating gear like you used to? Yeah, me too. Well here is a way for you to win a $50 Gift Card from Home Depot by just leaving a comment here.

The good folks at Home Depot are offering one TailgatingIdeas.com reader the opportunity to win a $50 gift card to be used towards the purchase of anything in their physical stores or online. Whether you’re looking to add to your tailgating gear without breaking the budget, impress the neighbors with the latest tailgating gadget or replace that beat up, rusty grill, The Home Depot offers the products and knowledge to make your tailgating ideas come to life.

To enter to win the $50 Home Depot Gift Card, follow these three simple steps:

1) Visit the Home Depot official website by clicking HERE (Link will open in a new tab/window. Keep this original window open because you’ll need to come back to TailgatingIdeas.com)

2) Find a product on the Home Depot website that you would like to use your $50 gift card on. (The item doesn’t have to equal $50 and can be more or less. It doesn’t have to be an item designed to take tailgating either.) Copy the URL and return to TailgatingIdeas.com.

3) At the bottom of this post, paste the URL of the Home Depot item into the comment box and include a brief comment on how you’ll use the gift card and why you want to use it on that particular item.

That’s it. It’s that simple. Deadline to submit your qualifying comment will be Monday, May 4, 2009 at 11:59 PM pacific time. Winner will be chosen randomly (name drawn out of a hat) and will be notified via email. Make sure you include a valid email address with your comment or we won’t be able to let you know that you won. (Don’t worry, no one will be able to view it and we won’t spam you or share it with anyone.) If you win, you will be asked to provide your mailing address. Your gift card will be mailed directly from the folks at Home Depot.

Do you want to increase your chances and gain a few more entries? There are a few ways to earn additional entries on top of the one you’ll earn by leaving a qualified comment below. Here’s how:

  • If you have a blog, blog about this contest or link to this contest on your website and earn five (5) additional entries. (Make sure to include the link to your blog post in your comment to receive credit.)
  • If you have a Facebook or MySpace profile, share this contest with your friends and receive three (3) additional entries.

Since I’m usually cooking different meats at the same time, this dual temp thermometer would be great. AND it lets me enjoy the rest of the tailgating at the same time.

I tweeted and facebooked this for you.

I’d put it towards a patio heater for those 40 degrees or colder tailgating games here in Minnesota!

Looking to buy My FIRST smoker. I found a guide on how to modify this one to make it a little better. It seems like a good place to start. Eventually I’d like to work my way up to a BUBBA KEG…

We’re not allowed to throw anything at the Q so I figure a little golf is in order.

Twitter, blog, and facebook coming up.

I have been wanting to grab this item for a while. It is basically a lightweight drawer set. I have a big butcher block that I am gonna cut grooves into to match the horizontal bars on top. Then I have a quick an easy prep station and a place for all of my tools, plates, napkins, pot holders and towels ect. I probably will use one drawer to hold poker chips, card games, cribbage boards as well. There are plastic inserts as well so stuff does not fall through.

Lightweight and will bungy in back of the truck and easy to unload. Oh yeah and I have planned out how to keep the drawers closed in transit as well.

I would use the gift certificate to get a new kitchen faucet as my current one has a tiny leak in the side of it.

I would use the gift certificate to buy a slab of turf to lay down behind our truck in the tailgating parking lot. That way we can party with the turf under our toes!

I’d use the gift card to purchase this Utility Cabinet for our garage:

We have zero storage in the garage for all our tailgating essentials. This would fit nicely in the corner and hopefully keep all the spiders from making a tiny spider home in my tailgating grill during the summer.

I’d use the gift card to purchase this laser measuring device for my interior designer fiancee who keeps borrowing my 25′ tape measure.

These would work great. We all know how hard it is to find the keg in the dark during a good tailgater!

    Model WTIM30

I would love a screen door for the front door of my home. I really enjoy having fresh air come in and that feeling of being open in the summer. I bought my house three years ago and somehow the money just hasn’t been here to have everything. In fact its been a bit of a struggle. We have had to prioritize so the screen door just hasn’t happened. Now that it’s spring the issue has emerged again and this is the very first thing I thought of. The next thing will be my deck in the back :)

I just posted a bulletin on my MySpace page as well. Lots of coverage for you this week.

I’m loving all the exposure and the response to this giveaway has been great. Keep it going and everyone can still earn the maximum amount of entries all the way until the deadline of Monday, May 4, 2009 at 11:59 PM pacific time.
