Chargers Custom Grill

Posted by Dave On December - 9 - 2010

It was over a year ago that we customized a Margaritaville Tailgating Grill to San Diego Chargers colors and logo. Since that first one, we have customized a number of other team themed grills. As with anything, we have gotten better with more and more practice. That is why we decided to sell our first Chargers Custom Tailgating Grill in order to make room for customizing a newer one. Take a look at how the latest Chargers Tailgating Grill turned out:

As you can see from the photos, we added a chrome emblem to the middle of the lid handle to help give it more depth and an enhanced 3D look. Also the grill lid was painted white with lightning bolts on the side and on the top using heat resistant paint. As you can imagine, paint that is rated to handle temperatures up to 1,200 degrees is not cheap nor is it an item you can find in any store. In order to find the correct colors to match the San Diego Chargers colors in heat resistant paint, we had to do some serious digging and research on the internet to find them. We also made our own homemade stencils to ensure the lightning bolts were authentic in style, proportion and design as the same lightning bolts you would find on Philip Rivers’ or Antonio Gates’ helmets.
