Have I mentioned lately how much I am in love with my Freedom Grill? Seriously, I have only been tailgating with the Freedom Grill FG-50 at one game this year and I am already starting to wonder how I tailgated without it.
To show how awesome of a grilling machine the Freedom Grill is, I put together a video demonstration focusing on how easy it is to use compared to my old tailgating grill.
Even the most well prepared and experienced tailgater can be forgetful sometimes. Nothing is worse than being ready to start grilling only to discover you brought the empty propane canister or someone forgot the lighter fluid. Although going Caveman style and eating your pounds of meat raw would be rather manly, it is highly unsanitary. This would be a great time to have a small, portable, compact grill available as a back-up.
The Jordan Grill is a small, grill-to-go in a box that contains charcoal in a small aluminum pan and a grate on top. All you need to do is find a match and you can save your tailgate. Of course the small size inhibits you from cooking large quantities at one time but it sure beats going hungry or having to mooch off your neighbor’s grill space. I plan on placing one of these in my tailgating utility box for times of emergency when I have underestimated the amount of propane I needed to take or something malfunctions. This way I can have the peace of mind I can still grill should something go wrong or was accidentally left at home.
Jordan Grills are also customizable and can include a team or club logo for larger orders. If you are a business owner and use tailgating as a promotional means, these little grills would be great to give away to potential customers and clients.
A single, generic Jordan Grill will run you $5.99 plus shipping and handling. Orders of 6-12 run $4.99 each plus shipping. More discounts are available with the larger quantities you buy. Minimum orders of Jordan Grills with a customized logo are 25 and the grill will cost $4.99 a piece.
At the very least you should pick up one or two Jordan Grills just to have a back-up grill in case of an emergency. Obviously this will not be your full-time solution for grilling but will be your “safety net” in case something goes wrong. Tailgating with a clear mind and no worries really helps you relax and enjoy the tailgating spirit. For about six bucks, isn’t it worth it to you to have that peace of mind with a Jordan Grill?
Whether it is in the movies or the comic books, Batman’s utility belt never included beer. Shame, isn’t it? As a tailgater you may not be as stealth as the Dark Knight but with The Beer Belt you can carry a six-pack, your ID, cash, a deck of cards or your cell phone all around your waist.
Last week we introduced you to the Beerdolier and now comes the The Beer Belt. I had the opportunity to have one sent to me to test out and I can honestly say I was quite impressed.
The belt is made of heavy duty waterproof ballistic nylon and the beverage slots are heavily insulated to ensure your beer stays cold. An over sized buckle and waist strap makes the belt extremely durable for multiple tailgates in the future..
The best part in my opinion is The Beer Belt did not just stop at giving you six slots to hold your beers. It also comes with and inner zipper pouch so you can put your cash, credit cards and most importantly, your ID so you can have it at the ready for the impending conversation with a police officer. Also, a rectangular pouch comes on The Beer Belt that is the perfect size to fit a pack of cigarettes, your cell phone or a pack of playing cards should a game of Up the River/Down the River break out.
The Beer Belt can be special ordered to include the logo of your favorite team, fraternity/sorority, tailgating club, etc. Logos are special order so you will have to contact them for pricing and availability to have your design screen printed or heat transferred onto The Beer Belt. They can also handle bulk orders as well if you want to outfit your entire tailgating crew with The Beer Belt.
Sarah East and David Hobbs of Food Gear Show are back and this time it is to expound on the right and wrong types of tailgating grills to bring to the game. Although Sarah does not mention the Freedom Grill by name (she calls it a trailer hitch grill) we all know this is the way to go.
A week ago I picked up my brand new Freedom Grill FG-50. (I love this grill so much I did a video demonstration of it so keep an eye out for it soon.) If tailgating with a full-sized grill that rides outside your truck or SUV wasn’t cool enough, the guys at Freedom Grill hooked me up with a sample of four of their Fire Brand barbecue sauces. Needless to say I was pretty excited to try them out.
This Labor Day Weekend I fired up the Freedom Grill and tried the Hickory Molasses Bar-B-Q Sauce on a number of chicken breasts. Two words describe the flavor of this Bar-B-Q sauce. Out Standing!
This is not your run of the mill Bar-B-Q sauce that you can pick up at your local grocery store. The FireBrand Hickory Molasses Bar-B-Q Sauce has quite a bit more kick than anything you have tasted. They don’t go overboard with the spices to just try to set the world record on having the world’s hottest and spiciest Bar-B-Q sauce. It was a great blend of sweet molasses and enough spices to get your attention. The real kicker is that my wife liked the flavor so much that she suggested we use the left over chicken breasts tomorrow night in a Bar-B-Q chicken salad. That’s got to be a ringing endorsement if you are willing to eat the same thing two nights in a row.
Grab a pack of all four flavors of Fire Brand Grilling Sauces for under $40. Believe me, if you like spicy and bold Bar-B-Q sauces, you will not be disappointed.
Great tailgating gear needs to be portable, convenient, affordable and functional. I have been to more than my fair share of tailgate parties and rarely have I experienced those four characteristics in one single product. That was true until I tailgated with my own Freedom Grill FG-50. The Freedom Grill is by far and away, hands down, the coolest and best tailgating essential on the market today. (click images to see larger size and more detailed.)
The fact that you can attach a full sized gas grill to the back of your tailgating vehicle, drive with it on and start grilling five minutes after you park is simply amazing. As long as you have a standard 2″ tow hitch receiver on your truck, trailer or SUV, you can use the Freedom Grill. No more worrying about if your grill leaked meat juices in the back of your SUV. The Freedom Grill rides outside of your vehicle and once parked, swings away from your tailgate or SUV lift gate allowing you access to all your other tailgating gear.
Check out this short video with Stephen Linn to see exactly how easy it is to grill with the Freedom Grill.
My own experience with the Freedom Grill FG-50 could not have been better. My first time using the Freedom Grill, I was amazed at how fast the grill reached 500°F. (the optimum temperature for grilling.) The FG-50 has a 20,000 BTU stainless steel burner under a 352 square-inch cooking area. That means it has enough room to cook the fattest of Tri-Tip steaks and more than enough heating power to have your food come out just to your liking. Make sure to keep an eye on your food and know when to flip your meat. The Freedom Grill is pretty awesome but can’t turn your brats while you are off playing cornhole.
For the tailgater that wants to take tailgating to an even higher level, there is the Freedom Grill FG-100. The FG-100 has all the features of the FG-50, attaches to your tow hitch, rides outside your vehicle, patented swing arm, etc., etc. but packs a bit more power. How would you like to try 30,000 BTU stainless steel dual burners pumping out a 650°F capability all under a 384 square inch cooking area (522″ with warming rack) on for size? Have you ever been tailgating and looked over at the folks parked next to you and experienced “grill envy”? Get yourself a Freedom Grill FG-100 and those days are over.
For years I tailgated with a Coleman RoadTrip Grill. It was a nice grill and served me well. Now that I have a Freedom Grill, I doubt that little guy will see the tailgating parking lot ever again. The Freedom Grill is without a doubt the one piece of tailgating gear you have to have if you want to be taken seriously as a tailgater. There is no equivalent and there is no substitute for a Freedom Grill.
