Back in January I discovered a great new way to go tailgating and still leave your grill at home. *Gasp* WHAT!?! How can you tailgate without a grill? It’s easy. All you need is a Tailgate Hotbag.

We’ve all seen those insulated carriers that pizza delivery guys show up at your door with. Those only keep the pizza warm and act like a blanket. Think of the Tailgate HotBag like those pizza blankets but on steroids. The Tailgate HotBag has an internal heating unit that is powered by your cigarette lighter outlet and can maintain temperatures up to 170 degrees for as long as you like.

Before the Tailgate HotBag, foods that do not go on a grill like enchiladas, casseroles, nacho dips, etc. would have to stay home. Not anymore. Now you can bake those foods at home, place them right out of the oven into the Tailgate Hotbag, plug it into your cigarette lighter and your food stays hot for the entire drive to the stadium. Once you are parked, the Tailgate HotBag keeps the food hot up until you are ready to eat. Most importantly, keeping your food the optimum temperature not only makes it taste better but prevents foodborne illnesses. (You did read our article on tailgate party food safety, right?)

The Tailgate Hotbag comes in three different models all designed to fit your tailgating needs. (Click on the images for a closer look.)

tghb-fs-open.jpgTailgate Hotbag with Mesh Pockets: Ideal for tailgaters. Simply plug the supplied 6″ power cord into any 12v outlet and the Electric Tailgate Hotbag heats to 165-170 degrees to keep food hot and safe from the time it leaves the oven until it’s ready serve, even if the party is hours away. The Mesh Pocket Electric Tailgate Hotbags is made of 1000 Denier nylon, is heavily insulated and has independent thermostat controlled heating elements in the top and bottom. Inside it’s 14″w X 10″d X 11″h, plenty of room for an entire meal with a rigid bottom and a zippered top to keep the heat in. The new Mesh Pocket bag has a convenient shoulder carrying strap, top handles and mesh pockets around the sides for condiments, napkins or beverages.

tailgate_hotbag_side-photo.jpgTailgate Hotbag – Side Loading: Keeps flat dishes like casseroles, hot dips, wings or spreads oven-hot from the time they leave the stove until they’re served, even if it’s hundreds of miles away. Plug the supplied 6″ power cord into any 12v outlet and the Electric Tailgate Hotbag heats to 165-170 degrees to keep food hot and safe. The Side Loading Electric Tailgate Hotbag is made of 1000 Denier nylon, is heavily insulated and has heating elements in the top and bottom for even consistent heat. The bag is 18″w X 18″d X 5.5″h, with a Velcro flap to keep the heat in and has top handles for easy carrying.

tailgate_hotbag_medium.jpgTailgate Hotbag- Large Side Loading: Here’s a way to keep enough food for the whole gang oven hot until it’s ready to be served at the party. This bag is best for foods that are lighter weight and can be stacked like subs, sandwiches or pizzas. The supplied 6″ power cord plugs into any 12v outlet to keep the Electric Tailgate Hotbag at 165-170 degrees to keep subs and pizzas oven hot. The Large Side Loading Electric Tailgate Hotbag is also made of 1000 Denier nylon, is heavily insulated and has heating elements in the top and bottom for even consistent heat. The bag is 18″w X 20″d X 12.5″h, with a Velcro flap to keep the heat in and has top handles for easy carrying.

Tailgate Hotbag AC Adapter: Use the optional AC Adapter to keep any Electric Tailgate Hotbag at 165-170 degrees indefinitely. Plugs into any wall AC outlet to keep food in the bag oven-hot as long as it’s plugged in. Great for when you are not tailgating at potluck dinners, picnics and large parties. You can still use it while tailgating if you plug it into a generator that is producing AC power.
