Funny you should say that as I was think the say think while checking for tickets on-line.But there is a way! It's the PA Attorney General's office. They are suppose to enforce the law about scalping of tickets. What I can't figure out is how StubHub is not investigated/sued over this. They provide the forum for ticket holders to break the law and they collect a fee based on those inflated prices! We should stop being sheep and grow a pair and complain. How about demonstration in front of the stadium Holiday Inn where StubHub has an office. I love to connect with like minded pople on this issue to see if we can make a difference.

Chris,

As a fan in Houston, I understand exactly what you are feeling. But as a former ticket broker, I feel I must give you insight as to what goes into aquiring those tickets. Sure, sometimes they are 2 or 3 times the face value or more. But brokers rarely get their tickets for face value. They buy seats from season ticket holders that don't want certain games or can't use the tickets. Depending on where the seats are also ups the price that they pay for them, back to your supply and demand theory. And often they have to buy seats for less desirable games in order to get the big ones. Also remember that once the game is over, if they haven't sold them, it's a worthless piece of paper. I used to have athletes and former athletes sell me premium tickets that never went on sale to the public, so you can imagine what the demand was for those. Also, most of these businesses are in this for years, and depending on how a team is performing, determines what the price of those tickets are. At least in Houston anyway. If the Astros, Rockets, or Texans are at the bottom of the division, it's hard selling tickets for more than face value. When they are hot, 2 million people want to go to the games. Some years are good... some years suck. I too usually can't afford to pay more than face value for tickets AND be able to afford the food and drinks inside. But if you tailgate, see what tickets are going for just before gametime. If they're still too high, take your money to the nearest sports bar and have a great time with your buddies. After all, it doesn't matter where you are when you have fun... just have fun.
