Orange Wedge Jell-O ShotsWe’ve all been to a tailgate party where someone breaks out the Jell-O shots. And yes, that person usually becomes one of the more popular people there. Make St. Patrick’s Day an Official U.S. Holiday

February 15, 2008 in Tailgating Ideas

Hot girls partying on St. Patrick's DayRegular readers of this website already know that we believe in petitions and propositions to make our world a better place for tailgating. (Just ask the folks at the NFL and the Super Bowl XLII Host Committee how we feel about petitions.) The latest proposition that we are wholeheartedly throwing our support behind does not have to do with tailgating directly. We’re willing to overlook this because we are confident our readers will support this effort as well. You can join the ranks of those that sign the petition to make St. Patrick’s Day an official United States holiday.

The good folks at Guinness (What, you thought for a minute a large corporation wasn’t behind something like this?) have started Proposition 3-17. It’s a national effort to make St. Patrick’s Day an officially-recognized holiday in the United States. The goal is to get at least one million petitioned signatures by midnight on March 16, 2008 so they can be presented to Congress the next day, St. Patrick’s Day.

Tow Hitch Mounted Kegerator

February 13, 2008 in Tailgating Gear, Videos

Keg at a tailgate partyCreative tailgaters are always looking for a new way to utilize their tow hitch for their next tailgate party. I’ve seen The Freedom Grill, which is a swing out grill that attaches to your trailer hitch. I’ve seen tables and sun umbrellas that attach to your vehicle via the tow hitch. I have even seen a way to attach your flat screen TV to your tow hitch using the Tow Hitch TV mount. Now I have seen it all. I recently came across a way you can transport a kegerator system right off the back of your tow hitch. Read the rest of this entry →

Magnetic Beer Koozie

February 12, 2008 in Tailgating Gear

Magnetic Beer KoozieSpilling your beer while tailgating is a major party foul. Drinking warm beer is even worse. What if there was a product out there that keeps your drink cold AND keeps it out of harm’s way?

We recently came across magnetic beer koozies that does both. As far as we can tell it looks like a regular insulated Neoprene beer koozie but with a magnetic strip that attaches it to any metal surface. Sounds like a great way to keep your beer cold without taking up valuable tailgating table space. It’s like making a cup holder available anywhere there is a metal surface. Another bonus is you can “stick” your beer up high so that those pesky underage drinkers can’t get to it.

Check out The American Tailgater’s complete line of magnetic beer koozies and other products. NFL and NCAA Logo Magnetic Koozies will run you less than 30 bucks for a 4-pack. Plain magnetic koozies with no logo will run you under $25 for a 4-pack. If you are willing to advertise The American Tailgater you can get their branded Magnetic Coozies with their logo for a cool $20 for a 4-pack. Check them all out HERE.
